The Ibizan anthem knocks AI off the top spot...
Boy band A1’S cover of the 1980s A-Ha classic ‘TAKE ON ME’ has been knocked from the top of the singles chart after just one week by MODJO‘s Ibizan anthem ‘LADY’ this evening (Sunday September 10).
Modjo raced ahead in the sales chart with their Chic-sampling number which has been ripping up dancefloors in the Balearics all summer.
It pipped former Number One artist Sonique, who went straight in at Number Two with ‘Sky’, the follow-up to her chart smash ‘Feels So Good’, which is still doing the rounds across Europe.
Number Three went to Fugee Wyclef Jean’s single ‘It Doesn’t Matter’. featuring wrestling star The Rock.
N* Sync hit Number Nine with ‘It’s Gonna Be Me’ and Channel Four and MTV comedian/presenter Richard Blackwood went in at Number Ten with ‘1-2-3-4 Get With The Wicked’.
Lower down the chart reaches, Badly Drawn Boy went in at Number 26 with ‘Disillusion’ from his Mercury Prize nominated ‘The Hour Of Bewilderbeast’ and everyone’s favourite masked metal marauders Slipknot managed a Number 28 with current single ‘Spit It Out’.
Cypress Hill meanwhile managed a Number 35 with ‘Can’t Get The Best Of Me’.
