GORILLAZ WARFARE?

The band plan to follow up their 'Blur: Are Shite' T-Shirts with a design mocking Albarn's latest outfit Gorillaz...

MOGWAI‘s feud with DAMON ALBARN has re-ignited after the band told NME.COM of a mooted plan to dedicate a new T-shirt to the BLUR frontman, as featured here.

The Scottish band originally produced a T-shirt two years ago with the words ‘Blur: Are Shite’, which reportedly enraged Albarn at the time. Now, in an exclusive NME interview to appear next week, Mogwai have admitted that they considered marketing a follow-up with the slogan ‘Gorillaz: Even Worse’.

Albarn’s Gorillaz may be off the hook, though. For now, Mogwai have decided that, unlike Blur, the cartoon hip hop outfit is “totally irrelevant” and does not deserve a new T-shirt.

But NME.COM has designed a ‘Gorillaz: Even Worse’ T-shirt just in case Mogwai decide that, with a new single and UK tour and hit album, Gorillaz do become relevant.

The band’s Stuart Braithwaite told NME.COM: “Now I don’t think we should even bother with Gorillaz. In the scheme of things it’s totally irrelevant.” But he added that Albarn was a “c—“, commenting “if Paul McCartney and Damon did a record, it would implode with pure evil.”

Meanwhile, Gorillaz have confirmed the details of their folow-up to the hit ‘Clint Eastwood’ single. ’19-2000′ is released through Parlophone on June 25.

A tour has also been confirmed, starting at: La Cigalle, Paris (June 22)

Dublin The Olympia, (24)

Edinburgh Corn Exchange (27)
