Mike Joyce claims former bandmate's controversial remarks were 'right'
The singer was roundly criticised over the remarks, which saw him brand the actions of the man responsible for the tragedy, Anders Breivik, as “nothing” compared to McDonald and Kentucky Friend Chicken. He made the remarks onstage at a gig in Warsaw last month (July 24).
However, one person who appears to believe the comparison was fair is Joyce, who wrote on Twitter:
Been asked a lot about the comments made by Moz regarding the slaughter of innocent animals every day. He’s right isn’t he?
Joyce‘s backing for Morrrissey – who he sued over supposedly unpaid royalties in the 1990s – comes after the drummer slammed the singer for playing songs by The Smiths during his set at Glastonbury earlier this year.
However, he stopped short of apologising, commenting:
If you quite rightly feel horrified at the Norway killings, then surely naturally follows that you fell horror at the murder of ANY innocent being. You cannot ignore animal suffering simply because animals “are not us.”
