MOZ SPEAKS ON IoW NO-SHOW

The former Smith has reportedly hit back over festival cancellation…

A row has broken out following the announcement that Morrissey has pulled out of this year’s ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL.

As reported by NME.COM, Morrissey’s official website [url=]Morrisseymusic.com

claimed that the former Morrissey frontman was unable to play his headlining slot due to recording commitments and the need break in a new drummer.

However, following this announcement several Morrissey fansites have published a statement purporting to be directly from Morrissey himself which contradicts the official line.

“I have not ever, at any time, agreed to play the Isle of Wight Festival,” reads the statement that appeared on [url=]Morrissey-solo.com.

The statement also claims that Morrissey is still working with his current drummer Deano, and that the star has no control over Morrisseymusic.com.

The validity of the statement’s source could not be immediately verified. Sanctuary would not confirm or deny that it was from Morrissey directly.

“We’ve worked closely with Morrissey over the last couple of years and out of respect to our artists we’re not going to comment any further,” a Sanctuary Group spokesperson explained.
