Singer describes 2014 tour as his "best ever"
Morrissey has named his gig at the O2 Arena in London this November as his best gig of the year.
The frontman listed seventeen of his favourite gigs of the year in a new post on True To You, placing the London gig above all of the others on his recent trip around Europe. Other gigs listed include those in Dublin, Belgrade, Paris and Helsinki.
Describing the run of live shows as the “best ever”, Morrissey wrote: “What I may risk calling our best tour ever … has now ended, and my written words of thanks to all who came along to watch and listen are strong enough to burn a hole through the North Pole. It is gratifying to have so much support around the world, and the drone of my repetitive thanks could somehow never say enough.”
Morrissey’s European tour was met with a number of setbacks including the singer cancelling dates in Greece and Turkey. A gig in Germany was ended shortly after a stage invasion and he walked off stage during his Poland show after being heckled by a fan.
Earlier in the year, Morrissey cancelled a number of dates due to a “flu outbreak” amongst his crew. This came after a string of US dates were scrapped, with the singer revealing that he had been treated for cancer.
