Bassist reveals follow-up to 'The Heroin Diaries'

Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx has unveiled details of his new album and book.

Sixx will publish This Is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography And Life Through The Distorted Lens Of Nikki Sixx on April 11. The collection is the follow-up to his 2007 book and album The Heroin Diaries, which was released under the moniker of Sixx:AM.

He will also release a companion album, ‘This Is Gonna Hurt’, on May 10. Watch a trailer for the releases, featuring a snippet of new song ‘Lies Of The Beautiful People’, by scrolling down and clicking below.

Speaking to Billboard about the project, Sixx said the book is “not an autobiography”.

He described the tome as him “shooting from the hip. Sometimes it’s tirades and rants. Sometimes it’s very focused. Sometimes it’s very sentimental and soft and reflective. Sometimes it’s brutal in is asshole-ishness. It’s all my opinion and I stand by it.”

Sixx said he would go on a a promo tour for the project, but did not say whether this would include live gigs. During the promotion of The Heroin Diaries, Sixx:AM played live at Motley Crue‘s 2008 festival Crue Fest.

He also said that though Motley Crue plan to reunite this year and next to celebrate their 30th anniversary together, “nothing was set in stone yet”.
