Mumford makes rare live appearance at Guildhall show
Mumford and Sons‘ frontman Marcus Mumford joined King Charles on stage to perform three songs during a gig in Gloucester last night (February 23). Watch footage from the gig below, now.
Mumford, who has worked with King Charles in the past, joined his friend on stage at the Gloucester Guildhall and performed a new song called ‘Loose Change’ amid his brief cameo. Greeting the audience with a simple “hello”, Mumford wore a black hat and played electric guitar on all three songs.
The band will make their UK live return on the Reading and Leeds Main Stage, their first time headlining the festival. Mumford & Sons’ appearance is their first high profile UK gig announcement since they played their Gentlemen Of The Road series of shows in summer 2013. They join Metallica on the list of headliners this year. A third headliner will be announced tonight (February 24).
In October last year it was revealed that Mumford And Sons were in the studio with Arctic Monkeys and Haim producer James Ford. A source close to the band commented of the sessions: “It’s very early days yet, but the sessions have been going well”. The band released their last album ‘Babel’ in 2012.
