Week of South African events in London includes gigs and biltong tasting
Mumford and Sons are hosting a week of events celebrating South Africa in the lead-up to their Hyde Park headline concert.
The band and their Gentlemen Of The Road festival have the Johannesburg – A South African Experience exhibition running until July 8 at the Lights Of Soho gallery in London’s Soho.
The pop-up events follow Mumford And Sons’ joint mini-album ‘Johannesburg’ with Baaba Maal and The Very Best, which was recorded in the South African city in 48 hours in February.
The exhibition began yesterday with a screening of the films Future Sound Of Mzansi and Ghost Diamond. It continues today (July 1) with ‘Saffa Sounds’, featuring DJ sets by Petite Noir and Okzharp.
A full diary for the exhibition is below.
Mumford And Sons headline Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time at Hyde Park on July 8 on a bill also featuring Alabama Shakes, Wolf Alice, Baaba Maal, Kurt Vile And The Violators, Mystery Jets, Nick Mulvey, The Very Best and Borns.
