Singer reveals how festival antics helped him develop his bedroom skills
Muse‘s Matt Bellamy has spoken about his first sexual experiences as a teenager at Reading Festival and how they helped shape his carnal education.
Speaking in the new Q magazine, Bellamy said, “Reading was definitely a place where a lot of my early sexual experiences were. I didn’t lose my virginity at Reading, I’d lost it just before. But I definitely followed through and learnt a bit more how to do it there.”
He also admitted, “I’ve got some pretty unsavoury memories [there].”
The interview contains yet more festival confessions from the band including how Bellamy ‘crapped behind a fence’ and how Muse‘s drummer, Dominic Howard, had his ‘head smashed in and sprinkled with piss’ in a moshpit.
Away from talk of Reading and Leeds, bassist Chris admitted that he used to suffer from a chronic alcohol problem. After accepting he had issues he gave up the drink in December 2008, stating, “I’m happier than I’ve been in a long time.”
Muse are set to headline Reading And Leeds Festival, playing the Friday slot (August 26) at Leeds before closing the Reading festival on Sunday (August 28).
