Band beat Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian to the honour
Muse have won the Best British Band award at the Shockwaves NME Awards tonight (February 24).
The Devon band beat off competition from nominees Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro and Oasis to win the gong.
“That’s a genuine surprise…” said frontman Matt Bellamy. “It’s very humbling to win that award against the Monkeys, Kasabian. [And] great to receive it from a couple of music legends.”
They received the prize at London‘s O2 Academy Brixton from guest presenters Lily Allen and Slash.
