Big Day Out: Sydney tickets go into ballot

The final tickets for 2007’s Big Day Out festival in Sydney will be distrubted to fans by ballot.

Taking place on January 25 at the Showground, the Sydney leg of the festival is set to feature Muse, The Killers and Jet.

Although 45,000 tickets for the festival were snapped up in a few hours, to give fans a chance to get the final 10,000 organisers will be using a ballot.

Each week 1,000 tickets will be made available on Bigdayout.com via a randomly drawn online ballot. There is a limit of two tickets per person.

Registration will open at 9am on October 20 and the first ballot will be drawn at 9pm on October 26, then every Thursday until December 28.

Ticket hopefuls only need to register once to qualify to win during the balloting period.

Successful fans will receive an email within 30 minutes of the draw. Details of how to then pay for the ticket will be contained in the message.

The first 5,000 tickets will be available at $125, with the final 5,000 retailing at $150.
