MUSE PULL US DATES

Fans face a nervous wait to find out how serious the injury is...

MUSE have been forced to pull out of a US tour after an injury to their bassist, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.

The band have been out in the US this month playing on The Cure’s Curiosa Tour. However, bassist Chris Wolstenholme has injured himself while on the road, and the band have come back early, pulling the last three dates.

A statement reads: “We are very sad to confirm that due to an injury Chris has sustained to his wrist, Muse have been forced to cancel their three remaining shows of the Curiosa festival. We apologise to all those looking forward to seeing the band in Chicago, Dallas and Houston, but the injuries are such that Chris is unable to play these dates.

”The band have just returned to London and Chris is currently receiving medical attention. We will of course keep you informed on this matter as soon as we have any news. Thanks so much for your patience and understanding at this time.”

Muse are scheduled to appear at next weekend’s V Festival in Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Stafford (August 21-22).

A spokesperson for the band said that at this stage the UK dates had not been cancelled. More details are expected to emerge tomorrow (August 16).
