Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has taken to Twitter to comment on Donald Trump and the imminent threat of nuclear catastrophe.
The singer recently shared an article detailing how Trump “could face a nuclear decision soon”, with Bellamy commenting on Twitter: “Self control and restraint, Trump’s strong suit?”
He went on to post a graph of the Doomsday Clock, the symbolic clock face that represents a countdown to possible global catastrophe. Bellamy wrote: “When this clock hits 23:58 we must take urgent action; take to the streets and protest 4 global nuclear disarmament.”
When asked by a fan what song sums up the state of the world at the moment, Bellamy opted for ‘The Globalist’, the Muse song that tells the tale of a dictator “taking their power/control to disturbing ends”.

Bellamy recently made headlines when reporters claimed that he was overheard saying that he was in favour of the UK leaving the EU. He then took to Twitter to clarify the reports. As well as detailing what happened during his meeting with Hillary Clinton with girlfriend, actress and model Elle Evans, he added that he was “only Ok with #softbrexit single market & free movement of people”, adding “YES, free to do trade deals outside of EU – YES”.
Recently, Muse said that their next record could be more “stripped back”. This comes after the band’s live director has recently revealed that the band’s plans for their next world tour involve them ‘levitating on magnets’. The band have also revealed that they plan to tour select US festivals next year, before returning to the studio to record new songs. Bellamy has also revealed that the band will play next year’s Lollapalooza.
