My Bloody Valentine‘s original drummer Colm O’Ciosoig has formed a new band called Clear Spot.

They’ll be releasing their debut double A-single single ‘Psycho’s Blues’/’Moon Man Bop’ on June 29 through Stereolab’s label Duophonic.

Meanwhile, Stereolab themselves are releasing a 25-track compilation LP of rarities and long unavailable tracks in October. The album, which has yet to be titled, is along the same lines as the band’s 1995 album of B-sides and rare tracks ‘Refried Ectoplasm’, which featured material from the early part of the band’s career.

Most tracks included on the forthcoming album will be from 1995 to the present day, the band’s spokesman revealed. Stereolab are taking the rest of the year off while Laetitia and Tim stay at home to look after their new baby.
