My Chemical Romance score first UK Number One single

The Killers stay on top in the album chart too

My Chemical Romance have knocked Razorlight off the top of the UK singles chart tonight (October 15) with new single ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’.

The band, who have had an eventful week in the UK, shot to their first Number One after climbing 22 places in the chart.

Scissor SistersI Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ fell to Number Three, while The Killers‘ comeback single ‘When You Were Young is down to Number Eight.

Elsewhere there are new entries for Hot Chip at 27 with ‘Over And Over’, The Ordinary Boys with ‘Lonely At The Top’ at 36 and Badly Drawn Boy with ‘Nothing’s Gonna Change My Mind’.

The top ten looks like this:

In the album chart The Killers stay on top with ‘Sam’s Town and Scissor Sisters are at Number Two with ‘Tah Dah’.

The highest new entry was metal band Trivium‘s ‘The Crusade’, which came into the chart at Number Seven.

Sting‘s ‘Songs From The Labyrinth’ – an album of lute music by 16th Century composer John Dowland – entered at Number 24 on the main chart, and topped the classical chart.
