My Chemical Romance fans launch petition calling on the band to embark on a farewell tour

Devastated MCR followers say they want a proper send off

Crestfallen My Chemical Romance fans across the globe have launched a petition calling on the band to play one more tour as an official goodbye.

The emo rockers announced their split over the weekend and frontman Gerard Way has since posted a huge statement explaining their break-up. Since the split, over 6,000 fans have signed a petition calling on the group to hold “one last world tour to say goodbye to their fans.”

The petition, posted on Change.org on Saturday morning (March 23) shortly after the announcement, has apparently been growing at the rate of two fans every second. Campaign organiser Cameron Lee wrote: “They ended so abruptly without saying goodbye to their fans properly, and the MCRmy is upset. They need to do it correctly if they’re going to do it at all.”

Other fans also posted their disappointment at the band’s abrupt end. Sylvia, from Poland, said: “My Chemical Romance just saved my fucking life. They told me that I can not stop running and I can’t believe, that this is the end. I want to go to the last concert because I dream of [giving] them a little ‘Thank you’.”

Tabitha, from Florida added: “This band has impacted my life in so many ways, and I don’t think that I would be the same person today without them. A fan for seven years, and It has been my dream to see them and meet them. Without them, it’s hard. It’s hard trying to accept that I might not ever get to say my thank yous. I love them, sincerely. They were my friends when I had none. They are my heroes.”

My Chemical Romance have released four studio albums, starting with 2002’s debut ‘I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love’. Their second LP, ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’, followed in 2004 while follow-up ‘The Black Parade’ was released in 2006 before the release of ‘Danger Days…’ three years ago.
