Rapper reckons she was a royal in previous incarnation - but kept her Barbies with her
Nicki Minaj has claimed that she used to be the Queen of London in a past life.
The rapper, who faced controversy yesterday when it was revealed that a US television network had banned the video for her new single ‘Stupid Hoe’, told Wonderland magazine that she was convinced she had been an English monarch in a previous incarnation.
I was born in London in my past life, no one can tell me any different. I probably was like a Queen in London, I was probably the people’s queen that fought for lives…
She also claimed that she wouldn’t have taken up her place on the throne without her collection of Barbie dolls, adding: “And I probably started off as a maid and then was just, like, really revolutionary and moved all my [Barbies] into the big queen mansion.”
Minaj is set to release her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ on April 3, and has previously hinted that she would be recording material as her gay male alter-ego Roman for the record. She originally introduced the persona on her song ‘Roman’s Revenge’, the opening track from her 2010 debut ‘Pink Friday’.
Minaj recently confessed that it had felt “so good” to lock lips with the pop icon for the track’s video.
She also recently overtook Eminem to become the most followed hip-hop artist on Twitter.
