Nicki Minaj has been confirmed as the host of the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards.
The ceremony, which is now in its 20th year, will take place at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Sunday, November 9 and will be broadcast live from 9pm.
The news was announced via the rapper’s Twitter and Instagram accounts, with a picture of Minaj in a throne accompanied by the caption, “So excited to announce that I will not only perform, but I have the honorable task of HOSTING this year’s MTV European Music Awards!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!”
Minaj herself has been nominated in four categories – Best Female, Best Hip-Hop, Best Fans and Best Look – at the awards show, while Katy Perry, Ariana Grande and Pharrell Williams lead the nominations across the categories.
The rapper is gearing up to release third studio album ‘The Pinkprint’ on November 24 and recently released single ‘Anaconda’, which broke the Vevo record for most views within 24 hours of release.
The video, which features Minaj and a host of backing dancers twerking, received 19.6 million hits in a single day.
