Trent Reznor previews ‘Gone Girl’ soundtrack ahead of cinema release

Nine Inch Nails frontman provides score for latest David Fincher movie

Trent Reznor has shared a preview of his music for the forthcoming film adaptation of Gone Girl.

The Nine Inch Nails musician has again teamed up with director David Fincher on the film, following their work on The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The music can be heard via the Nine Inch Nails website now.

Reznor previously said that his score for the film was inspired by music heard in massage parlours. Speaking to The Wall Street Journal about his latest project, Reznor revealed that the Gone Girl score is like a “curdled” version of relaxation music.

“[Fincher] said, ‘Think about the really terrible music you hear in massage parlours. The way that it artificially tries to make you feel like everything’s OK. And then imagine that sound starting to curdle and unravel,'” said Reznor.

Gone Girl tells the tale of a man accused of murdering his wife after she goes missing on their fifth anniversary and stars Ben Affleck (right) and Rosamund Pike. It opens in cinemas in the UK on October 3. Scroll down to watch a trailer now.
