Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor to score David Fincher’s ‘Gone Girl’

A new Nine Inch Nails remix EP 'Seed Night' is also available today via Beats Music

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor will score David Fincher’s forthcoming adaptation of Gone Girl, it has been announced.

Reznor will work with frequent collaborator Atticus Ross on the soundtrack for the big screen version of Gillian Flynn’s novel, he revealed on Twitter.

The film tells the tale of a man accused of murdering his wife after she goes missing on their fifth anniversary and stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. It opens in cinemas in the US on October 3.

Reznor and Ross have previously scored two films for Fincher – 2010’s The Social Network and 2011’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Today also marks the launch of Beats Music in the US. The new music streaming service, which is being launched to rival Spotify, has been developed by Reznor with Interscope/Geffen chairman Jimmy Iovine along with Dr Dre and will have more than 20 million songs available to stream.

As part of the launch a new Nine Inch Nails remix EP, ‘Seed Eight’, featuring re-works of four tracks from the band’s ‘Hesitation Marks’ album from Hop Chil. Cold Cave, Simian Mobile Disco and Autolux, will be available.

Yesterday, it was reported that Nine Inch Nails will close the Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday (January 26), where they will perform with Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age and Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham for a special performance.
