Trent Reznor and co spill the beans in new web series
Nine Inch Nails have released the first part of a new documentary about their comeback tour online – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to watch.
The 13-minute-clip is the first in a series of short films which will chronicle the band’s return to the road and features interviews with lead singer Trent Reznor and other members of the group, as well as their creative director Rob Sheridan, ahead of their performance at last month’s Fuji Rock festival in Tokyo.
At last weekend’s Reading and Leeds Festivals, Reznor lashed out at both the event’s promoters and Biffy Clyro by claiming they had both “fucked us” on production. His comments were given short shrift by festival boss Melvin Benn, however, who said: “The truth is there’s no truth in the statement. The contract hasn’t changed since they signed up to it.”
Nine Inch Nails will release their new album ‘Hesitation Marks’ on September 3, but the LP is currently streaming online ahead of its official release. The record, which is the follow-up to 2008’s ‘The Slip’, can be heard at iTunes now.
Produced by Reznor, the album features guest appearances by bassist Pino Palladino, who regularly plays with The Who, and Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. Yesterday (August 29), meanwhile, the band revealed that the LP would be available in two different versions: a standard, “loud” master, available on CD, iTunes and elsewhere, and an “audiophile” mastering available only to those purchasing any version of the album through the band’s website.
