The Roadmender shuts its doors after losing funding

Northampton venue The Roadmender is to shut after its funding was withdrawn.

The local county council recently voted (November 14) to withdraw its annual £58,000 grant, and as a result the venue’s board of trustees have decided not to continue.

The venue has also recently lost funding from the Arts Council which made the impact of the council’s decision more acute.

Some gigs at the venue – which hosted a Club NME night – are being moved to Leicester venue The Charlotte, see for more information.
