T.I. pleads not guilty to weapons charges

The rapper remains in custody without bail

T.I. pleaded not guilty to weapons charges in Atlanta today (October 19).

The Grammy Award-winning rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was ordered by a judge to remain in custody for the next week, at which time the judge may consider releasing the rapper on bond.

T.I. was arrested in Atlanta on Saturday (October 13) by federal agents from the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as previously reported.

The arrest came as a result of an investigation that began earlier in the month in which T.I.‘s bodyguard was allegedly purchasing machine guns for the rapper, who is a convicted felon and therefore unable to legally purchase them himself.

T.I.‘s lawyers were attempting today to have him released on a $2.2 million bond and subject to electronic monitoring and home confinement, reports the Associated Press.
