Angel Olsen announces new album, ‘My Woman’

The album will land via Jagjaguwar on September 2

Angel Olsen has announced details of her new album, ‘My Woman’, which will be released on September 2 via Jagjaguwar. It follows 2014’s ‘Burn Your Fire for No Witness’.

As well as the details of the album, the Missouri-born singer has outlined plans for her forthcoming tour, which will start in the US in July before heading to Europe in September. You can see the full list of dates at the bottom of the page.

Last week (June 1) Olsen revealed a video trailer for the first material from ‘My Woman’, entitled ‘Intern’. You can watch that below.

The album is produced by Justin Raisen, and features guest guitarist Seth Kauffman alongside Olsen’s regular band, which is made up of bassist Emily Elhaj, drummer Joshua Jaeger, and guitarist Stewart Bronaugh.

Olsen says her forthcoming album is about “the complicated mess of being a woman. I’m definitely using scenes that I’ve replayed in my head, in the same way that I might write a script and manipulate a memory to get it to fit. But I think it’s important that people can interpret things the way that they want to.”

‘My Woman’ tracklist:

1 Intern
2 Never Be Mine
3 Shut Up Kiss Me
4 Give It Up
5 Not Gonna Kill You
6 Heart Shaped Face
7 Sister
8 Those Were The Days
