PETE DOHERTY CASTS DOUBT ON LIBERTINES’ FUTURE

The guitarist claims he’s not going to play the band’s forthcoming gigs…

A question mark appears to hang over the future of Libertines this afternoon (May 27) after PETE DOHERTY hinted he’s leaving the band.

Doherty was admitted into the Priory clinic in London earlier this month in an attempt to kick his addiction to drugs. He checked himself out over the weekend and has kept a low profile throughout the week.

But in a posting on [url=]babyshambles.com he claims he’s given an interview with tabloid newspaper The Sun and that he’s planning on getting away from “the cycle of destruction”.

He wrote: “I must away…. from the cycle of destruction…yeah yeah all gigs are off including the festivals I was ‘too unwell’ to play last year.”

A spokesperson for the band was unable to comment on the rumours.
