Days after being arrested by police investigating allegations of abuse of boys under 16, the former manager of 70’s teen sensations BAY CITY ROLLERS has appeared in court in EDINBURGH on drugs charges.

Tam Paton appeared in private before Sheriff Noel O’Brien at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (January 17). He made no plea or declaration, and the case was continued for further inquiry. He was released on bail.

He was initially apprehended at his home in the Gogarburn area of the city on Wednesday (January 15), in connection with an investigation by Surrey police into allegations of sexual abuse of boys. TV presenter Matthew Kelly was arrested as part of the same investigation, which relates to allegations dating back 30 years.

Paton was released on bail by Surrey police until March 12.
