MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH READING RAPE CLAIM

Police have arrested a man following the report of a rape at the CARLING WEEKEND FESTIVAL in READING.

Local police have confirmed that a 20-year-old man from the Reading area was arrested on Monday (August 27) and bailed Tuesday (28) pending further inquiries.

As previously reported on NME.COM, police launched a major investigation after two men allegedly entered a 16-year-old’s tent and committed rape at in the early hours of August 26.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses, and want to speak to a second man as part of their investigation.

He is described as black and in his mid-20s. He is well built with muscular biceps and broad shoulders. He has short hair and was wearing a grey or green T-shirt and black trousers.

Police are also investigating to possibility of a connection between tent thefts in the area and the rape enquiry.
