WARP FOUNDER ROB MITCHELL DIES

WARP RECORDS founder ROB MITCHELL has died.

Mitchell, whose innovative label has launched the career of artists including Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Two Lone Swordsmen amongst many others, was seen as a visionary in the world of dance music. He is thought to have passed away over the weekend.

A spokesperson for Warp Records in the UK confirmed Mitchell’s death to NME.COM but is currently unavailable for comment or to confirm how he died. It is believed that he was suffering from cancer.

A statement is likely to be issued tomorrow (October 10).
