A TRIBE CALLED QUEST and KRS-One kick off a series of EPs released every month for the whole of next year by Jive records under the banner ‘Hall Of Fame’. The idea is to collate American promo-only tracks and release them commercially in the UK. The first EP features A Tribe Called Quest‘s last ever single ‘Like It Like That’ as well as tracks from MYSTIKAL, E40 featuring K-CI & JO JO, TOO SHORT and KASINO. Number two, released in February, has a tasterfor KRS-One’s forthcoming album ‘5 Bouroughs’.

Newcomers OKAPI release their debut single ‘Jive Queen’ through Dishy records on Monday.

‘The Joy Of Plecs’ is a Fierce Panda compilation featuring tracks from CHICKS, THE MONSOON BASSOON, CAY, Oxford’s SAMURAI SEVEN and MAX TRACTOR. It’s out now.

FRIDGE and slo-fi sweethearts TRAM play London Highbury Po Na Na on December 8.

FUNGUS, who have supported IDLEWILD, TERRORVISION and SYMPOSIUM this year, headliner two gigs on the same night at London Camden Good Mixer (7 pm) and London Camden Monarch (10pm) on January 14. Their second single ‘Over My Head’ will be released by Chapter 22 on February 1.

BLONDIE, reformed middle-aged punk disco stars, release their new single ‘Maria’ on January 25. Their album ‘No Exit’ follows on February 8.
