IS IT ART OR IS IT ARSE?

Bands team up with avant garde art-world for wacko book and CD project...

In the wake of pickled shark artist DAMIEN HIRST‘s success as part of Fat Les, PET SHOP BOYS, DUB PISTOLS, ADD N TO (X) and BOY GEORGE have joined forces with artists including TRACEY EMIN, JAKE CHAPMAN and GILBERT & GEORGE for ‘We Love You’, a book and CD, released on Monday.

The avant-garde collection includes Add N To (X) teaming up with elephant dung painter CHRIS OFILI for a track called ‘The Fullness That Fills Up The Pulse Of Durations Is Full’ and Tracey Emin and Boy George doing a song called ‘Burning Up’. Other esoteric collaborations include SAM TAYLOR-WOOD and Pet Shop Boys covering Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin’s ‘Je T’Aime, Moi Non Plus’ and GAVIN TURK and Dub Pistols doing a version of Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’.

‘We Love You’, which is described as an “unusual fusion of visuals and music”, was compiled by a duo dubbed THE @MBASSADORS to “combine some of the most provocative and experimental artists with like-minded musicians”.
