Donington Rock Festival back on the cards with a host of heavyweights slated to play...
THE DONINGTON ROCK FESTIVAL is set to return this year, with IRON MAIDEN tipped to be headlining.
The last time the festival was held was in 1996 where Ozzy Osbourne and Kiss co-headlined.
In 1997, organisers attempted to take the heavy metal content out of the festival and booked Beastie Boys, Kula Shaker and Ash to play. The move didn’t go down well with the Donington faithful and the event was cancelled.
This year, with the popularity of rock music/heavy metal in ascendency, the festival’s been pencilled in at the Castle Donington site, Telford, for mid-July, according to a spokesperson at the venue.
