Click on thumbnail for full size picture BOWLIE finished on a sour note for some fans when security staff – acting under orders from the band’s press office – confiscated film from fans who had been taking snaps of the band.

Although there had been notices up all weekend saying that cameras and recording equipment were not allowed in the main stage, though the rule was not really enforced at any other time during the weekend.

But as soon as Belle & Sebastian started their set, security staff were ordered to take cameras and film from anyone seen using them. Press photographs were also banned, though NME and nme.com got some through clandestine means.

Otherwise, reactions to the festival were positive and though not without some problems it went comparatively smoothly. Other than Kevin Shields‘ cancellation, all the promised acts played.
