Honeyblood drummer Shona McVicar leaves group

Drummer has been replaced by Cat Myers with immediate effect

Honeyblood have announced that drummer Shona McVicar has left the band.

The duo, fronted by Stina Tweeddale, made the announcement via Facebook today (September 17) with the news that no live dates are affected and that Cat Myers is the band’s new drummer.

Honeyblood’s statement reads: “We’re sad to announce that after much deliberation Shona is leaving the band and moving on to other endeavours. All live dates and activity will remain as scheduled. We are excited to welcome the awesome Cat Myers to the drums as of tomorrow’s gig in Leeds (The Brudenell Social Club) and all shows going forward!”

Next month Honeyblood join Superfood on the NME New Breed Tour 2014. The two bands will head out on a series of dates, starting in Superfood’s native Birmingham on October 31. The following night will see the bands arrive in Honeyblood’s home town of Glasgow before moving on to Leeds, Norwich, Oxford, Manchester, Bristol and London. The tour will conclude in Brighton at The Haunt on November 12.
