The track, which is titled ‘Mess On A Mission’, is the first taster of the band’s seventh studio album, which will be released on March 24 in the UK and March 25 in the US. The group have also revealed a trailer for the album, which you can watch at the bottom of the page.

‘Mess On A Mission’ is the follow-up to Liars’ 2012 album ‘WIXIW’. Speaking previously about their new, dance-driven material to RBMA Radio, frontman Angus Andrew said: “We’ve always loved dance music. Right back to the first record, its always been there. For ‘WIXIW’ we worked around it and made it a little more difficult, so with this material we thought let’s just do it. It’s less cerebral, it’s more going for it and having fun with it.”

When talking about writing the new tracks, meanwhile, he added: “I went on the holiday to the Philippines, freaked out a little bit, came home and my computer was sitting there and thought ‘Fuck, I’m not going on tour, I’m going to see what happens’. Sometimes as an artist there’s a fear that you have to be ready, to step into the songwriting, and it’s great not to be in that position.”

Liars released their debut album ‘They Threw Us All In A Trench And Stuck A Monument On Top’ in 2001. Since then, they have released a further five studio records including ‘They Were Wrong, So We Drowned’ (2004), ‘Drum’s Not Dead’ (2006), the self-titled ‘Liars’ (2007), ‘Sisterworld (2010) and last year’s ‘WIXIW’.
