The Strokes guitarist will bring his solo material to Leeds, London, Manchester, Glasgow and Brighton

Albert Hammond Jr of The Strokes has announced a string of December UK tour dates.

The guitarist turned solo singer-songwriter will play five shows on the tour, including gigs in Brighton, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds and London. Starting in Brighton on December 5, the tour will conclude in London at XOYO on December 10. Scroll down for the full details and ticket information.

Albert Hammond Jr released a new EP, titled ‘AHJ’, earlier this month (October 8) on his bandmate Julian Casablancas‘ Cult Records label. Of the follow-up to his 2006 debut LP ‘Yours To Keep’ and 2008 record ‘¿Cómo Te Llama?’, Hammond Jr said: “It’s a combination of both previous recordings, which in turn makes it feel like it’s the best material that I’ve made so far.”

The guitarist recently denied that The Strokes are back in the studio following a cryptic statement in a fan mailout earlier this month that the band are preparing a “return to the scene”.

Albert Hammond Jr will play:

Brighton, The Haunt (December 5)
Glasgow, Broadcast (7)
Manchester, Night & Day Café (8)
Leeds, Brudenell Social Club (9)
London, XOYO (10)

Tickets go on sale at 9am this Friday (October 25). To check the availability of Albert Hammond Jr tickets and get all the latest listings, head to NME.COM/tickets.
