Second death at Bonnaroo Festival confirmed

Two people have died at the music festival in Tennessee

It was confirmed yesterday (June 13) that another person died at the weekend’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee.

Reports are scant, but is seems the death of Christopher William Yoder, 24, is being attributed to hyperthermia.

The second death follows that of 32 year old festival goer Beth Myers, whose body was found on the opening day of the popular American music event, reports Associated Press.

“We are unsure if heat exhaustion or any type of heat-related illness played a part in it,” said Captain Frank Watkins of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department when the death was initially reported. Autopsy results have not yet been released, but the extreme heat at the event saw 1,500 of the 80,000 in attendance treated for heat-related illnesses.

Taking place June 9-12, Bonnaroo Festival 2011 saw performances from Eminem, Arcade Fire, Mumford and Sons and My Morning Jacket.
