CARL PAYS TRIBUTE TO PETE AT SHOCKWAVES NME AWARDS

It's an emotional moment at the ceremony in London...

PETE DOHERTY didn’t make it to the SHOCKWAVES NME AWARDS tonight (February 17) – but ex-bandmate CARL BARAT paid tribute to his old pal when he picked up the BEST BRITISH BAND award for THE LIBERTINES.

The troubled star, who was recently charged with robbery and blackmail and is currently in drugs rehab, was unable to come to collect the coveted prize on behalf of his old band, whom he left after the release of their eponymous second album.

The award was presented by Best Male Solo Artist winner Graham Coxon and was collected by Barat, who is recovering from a recent operation.
