FRANZ FERDINAND have claimed their second SHOCKWAVES NME AWARD today (February 17), picking up the prize for BEST ALBUM.
The band saw off strong competition from the likes of The Libertines, Green Day and Scissor Sisters to clinch the prize.
The band were presented with their prize at Hammersmith Palais by Goldie Lookin’ Chain.
Collecting the award guitarist Nick McCarthy said: “We’ve got great competition up there.”
Drummer Paul Thompson added: “Shocker. Thanks to Domino and everyone who was nominated.”
