OZZY – GODLIKE GENIUS!

Ozzy Osbourne has claimed the GODLIKE GENIUS award at today’s (February 12) NME AWARDS in LONDON.

The star’s daughter Kelly Osbourne was on hand to collect the honour, while the stricken star, who was too ill to make the ceremony at Hammersmith Palais, filmed an acceptance speech.

Other big awards went to Libertines, whose Best UK Band prize was presented to them by Lauren Laverne, and Radiohead, who won the Best Album (supported by Virgin Megastores award for ‘Hail To The Thief’. ‘Little Britain’ stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams. Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood had earlier accepted the Best Video prize for the ‘There There’ promo.

Glastonbury claimed the Best Event award, presented by Zoe Ball, while Kings Of Leon was presented with his Fuck Me! Award For Innovation by Tim Westwood.

Har Mar Superstar claimed their second award of the day. Having earlier been crowned Best New Band, Colin Murray presented them with the award for Best International Band, supported by 4Music.

Other awards handed out included Best TV Show for ‘The Office’ andRock ‘N’ Roll Woman Of the Year for Brody Dalle (presented by [a][/a]).
