Klaxons and Big Pink check out NME Breakthrough band The Cabin Fever at The Great Escape

Bournemouth band hail 'fucking amazing gig' on Brighton pier

KlaxonsJamie Reynolds and members of The Big Pink all checked out hotly-tipped NME Breakthrough band The Cabin Fever at Brighton‘s Great Escape festival last night (May 15).

The Bournemouth newcomers played only their second gig to date at the festival’s Horatio’s venue, drawing a sizeable crowd to see them. They played a short set and aired tracks including ‘Cats Are Cooler Than Dogs’, which you can also listen to on the band’s official NME Breakthrough page.

Despite their own gig taking place at the nearby Digital venue directly after The Cabin Fever‘s set, The Big Pink members Akiko Matsuura and Milo Cordell watched the gig in its entirety.

Speaking to NME.COM after the band had come offstage, The Cabin Fever‘s frontman Dan Hall said: “That was fucking amazing. A month ago we’d never even been in the same room together! Ken [Robshaw, drummer] said, ‘I’ve got some songs I wanna get together’. Since then we’ve played [London venue] The Borderline, and now this.”

NME Breakthrough is the new service for musicians and fans that unites both to let them share music and discussion.
