The White Stripes have topped the 2006 NME Chart with ‘Blue Orchid’.

The track was the most wanted song this year in the only chart that matters, beating close competition from Arctic Monkeys‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ at Two and Arcade Fire’s ‘Rebellion (Lies)’ at Three.

Maximo Park’s ‘Apply Some Pressure’ features in the countdown at Four, while Kaiser Chiefs secure the Number Five position with ‘Oh My God’.

Other entries in the NME Chart’s Top 20 most requested tracks for 2006 include Franz Ferdinand, The Rakes, Gorillaz and Bloc Party.
