NME Radio nominated for Sony Radio awards

Winners are announced this May

NME Radio has been nominated twice in this years Sony Radio Academy Awards, which celebrate the best in UK radio content.

The station, which is currently the world’s leading rated indie radio broadcaster online, is nominated twice in the Best Use Of Branded Content category, for it’s link-ups with Skins and Topman. It is up against Absolute Radio, Jazz FM and Capital FM.

Elsewhere in the nominations list, BBC Radio 1‘s Chris Moyles goes up against Christian O’Connell (Absolute Radio), Lauren Laverne (BBC 6 Music), Mike Toolan & Chelsea Norris (Key 103 Manchester) and Scott Mills (BBC Radio 1) for the Music Radio Personality Of The Year category. However, Moyles misses out on a nomination for the coveted Breakfast Show Of The Year (10 million listeners plus) gong.

Meanwhile, the nominations for the Best Music Programme include Dermot O’Leary (BBC Radio 2), Laverne (BBC 6 Music) and The Radcliffe And Maconie Show (BBC Radio 2).

The winners will be announced on May 10.
