Bands hit back over messages endorsing the Republican presidential candidate
Both bands found tweets on their accounts endorsing the libertarian politician, with the former stating on Twitter.com/nodoubt:
Today we officially endorse Ron Paul 2012 donate to him here http://bit.ly/yDrrFI #ronpaulrevolution.
This was followed up by: “If you actually read what Ron Paul is saying, you will discover that for the first time in your life a politician is not lying to you.”
Similar tweets appeared on Rise Against‘s account. But both acts were quick to pull the messages of support down and set the record straight.
Rise Against hit back on their account Twitter.com/riseagainst tweeting: “We were hacked. As you would all assume, we DO NOT support Ron Paul,” while No Doubt‘ wrote: “Our Twitter account was hacked last night. No political endorsements at this time. Love, No Doubt.”
Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger also found her account defaced by the same group of Ron Paul supporters.
Meanwhile, No Doubt recently confirmed that their long awaited follow-up album to 2001’s ‘Rock Steady’ is likely to be released this year.
