Noel Gallagher plays new songs and Oasis classics in first leg of UK and Ireland tour

Gallagher was accompanied by a full choir and horn section

Noel Gallagher kicked off his UK and Ireland arena tour with a performance in Belfast last night that saw the singer-songwriter play a string of songs from his two solo albums as well as Oasis classics.

Arriving onstage at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena with his High Flying Birds, Gallagher said to the crowd: “What about you, Belfast? What’s the craic? I’m going to play a few songs from my new record for those of you who were kind enough to get it already.”

He then launched into tracks from his first solo album including ‘(Stranded On) The Wrong Beach’ and ‘Everybody’s On The Run’, along with the backing of a full choir behind him. On new track ‘Riverman’, Gallagher was accompanied by a horn section and house piano.
