Russell Brand to host one-off XFM radio show with Noel Gallagher

Comedian and musician team up to promote Teenage Cancer Trust concerts

Russell Brand will reunite with Noel Gallagher for a one-off radio show on Xfm later this month.

The pair became unlikely friends after Gallagher was a guest on Brand’s BBC 6Music show before it was taken off air following ‘Sachsgate’ in 2008. The Xfm show will mark the first time the pair have recorded a radio show together since 2011 and will also see Brand’s former 6Music cohorts Matt Morgan and Mr Gee involved too.

Brand and Gallagher will appear on the station on Monday, March 18 for a late night slot between 9pm-12am. The show will act as promotion for a week of Teenager Cancer Trust gigs – curated by Noel Gallagher – which take place from Tuesday, March 19 at the Royal Albert Hall. Speaking about reuniting Brand with Noel Gallagher, Xfm Managing Editor, Chris Baughen commented: “Russell is one of the worlds most unique talents and it’s a travesty he’s been off the radio for so long. Xfm is the perfect home for this show and we’ll be welcoming him back to where he started his radio career with open arms.”
