Indie heavyweights' new albums are being released a week apart
New offerings from both heavyweights have been scheduled just seven days apart.
Gallagher‘s long-awaited solo debut ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ is due for release on October 17. And while hopes are also flying high for the former Oasis man’s album, he will face a challenge to stay number one for more than a week. Coldplay‘s album is scheduled to come out October 24, points out The Sun.
This would be the second time the pair have faced off in a chart battle. In 2005, Oasis‘ ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ was knocked off the top spot after just a week by Coldplay‘s ‘X&Y’. Little is known so far about the band’s forthcoming fifth album, other than the buzz track ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’ which emerged last month.
Yesterday (July 19) it was confirmed that the first single from ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ would be titled ‘The Death Of You And Me’, confirming weeks of speculation.
