Oasis headlining new Mean Fiddler event in Glasgow this August....

Oasis are to headline a new two-day festival on Glasgow Green this August Bank Holiday weekend, nme.com can exclusively reveal.

The event, which is being organised by Mean Fiddler, will run alongside the organisation’s exisitng events Reading/Leeds 2000.

Further details have yet to be confirmed, but it’s expected that the bills will interchange between the three festival sites at Reading Rivermead, Leeds Temple Newsam Park and Glasgow Green over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, which runs from August 25 to 28.

Festival organiser Melvin Benn wouldn’t confirm that Oasis were playing the Glasgow festival, but said: “We’re going to be announcing full details very shortly.”

Earlier this week Oasis, currently at number one with new single ‘Go Let It Out’, announced that they were to headline both the Reading and Leeds Festivals for an estimated fee of #2.5million.

They play Reading on Friday August 25 and Leeds on Monday August 28, so they will play Glasgow either Saturday August 26 or Sunday August 27.

Tickets for Reading and Leeds are #80 for all three days, including camping, #33 for a day ticket, not including camping. Tickets go n sale on March 6.

It’s expected that further details of the Glasgow event, regarding both line-up and tickets, will be revealed later this week.
