Watch Ryan Adams cover Oasis after Noel Gallagher opening set

Adams treated the audience to 'Morning Glory' and 'Supersonic'

Ryan Adams and his band the Shining covered Oasis‘ ‘Morning Glory’ and ‘Supersonic’ earlier this week (July 13) during their show at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE.

Support for the show came from Noel Gallagher, who has previously praised Adams’ cover of ‘Wonderwall’.

Following the opening set, Adams played ‘Morning Glory’ and ‘Supersonic’ – avoiding his well-known cover of ‘Wonderwall’ as Gallagher had already played it in his opening set.

Speaking to SPIN, Gallagher was asked whether it was true Liam Gallagher hates singing ‘Wonderwall’. Noel responded: “That’s interesting, because he would never say that to me. Well, I hate him singing it, too. Liam doesn’t sound like he did ten years ago.”

Continuing, he praised Adams, stating: “Your voice and your body change. We’ve never got it right. It’s too slow or too fast. I think Ryan Adams is the only person who ever got that song right. I’d love to do the Ryan Adams version, but in front of 60,000 Oasis fans that wouldn’t be possible.”

Ryan Adams recently released a deluxe reissue of his debut solo album ‘Heartbreaker’. The expanded edition, released on May 6, is available as either a 4LP/DVD package or a 2CD/DVD package. Each adds 20 bonus outtakes and demos to the original 15-track album, which was released in 2000.
