Guitarist had originally asked to make Ontario appearance
Noel Gallagher won’t be appearing in person at the sentencing of the man who assaulted him on stage in Toronto, it has been agreed.
The guitarist had asked to read his victim impact statement in person in Ontario at the sentencing of Danny Sullivan. Sullivan pleaded guilty to the charge after attacking the Oasis man in 2008 at the Toronto V Festival.
Although the sentencing date had originally been postponed to find a day Gallagher could appear, now it has been decided that it would not be suitable for him to attend, reports TheStar.com.
Ruth Kleinhenz-Nelson, prosecuting, said that it had been agreed that he should not appear due to scheduling difficulties and the potential of a media circus surrounding the guitarist.
A date for the sentencing is yet to be confirmed.
