Oasis reveal exclusive live version of ‘Acquiesce’, recorded live at Earls Court – listen

Classic track features on forthcoming reissue of 1995 album '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?'

An exclusive live version of Oasis performing ‘Acquiesce’ at London’s Earls Court Arena in 1995 can be heard below.

The track features on the reissue of the band’s hugely successful 1995 album ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’, which will be released on September 29. The original version of the LP has sold over 22 million copies worldwide since it was released in October 1995.

The new edition of the album has been remastered from the original tapes by Ian Cooper at London’s Metropolis Studios, supervised by the album’s producer Owen Morris. The pair were part of a small team who have hunted down unheard demos and live material, as well as never-seen-before photos and memorabilia which will be included in the new artwork.

Details of the super-deluxe box set of the reissue have also been announced. The set will include a 180 gram double 12″ gatefold vinyl of the original album, triple CD album, and a coffee table book containing rare and unseen photos of the band. Also included will be a replica of the original promo cassette for the LP containing the track ‘Step Out’, which was removed before release. It will also feature a seven-inch vinyl with demos of ‘Hello’ and ‘She’s Electric’, a 12″ vinyl containing a replica of the original 1995 promo with ‘Cum On Feel The Noize’ and ‘Champagne Supernova (Lynch Mob Beats Remix)’.

Last month, NME released a Special Collectors’ Edition magazine tracing Oasis’ career from 1993 to 1996. The 100-page glossy magazine tells the story of the band’s rapid rise through archive NME and Melody Maker interviews and classic and rare photographs.

It also includes brand new features that tell the full story behind every single song written, recorded and released by the band at the time, including every track on ‘Definitely Maybe’ and ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ plus all the singles B-sides.

The special-edition magazine is available now priced £5.99. You can order the print edition, download it for iPad or iPhone or find it on newsstands.
